Tucson Young Professionals’ First Fridays continues to offer unique perspectives on pop culture and Downtown Tucson with its 30th First Fridays’ event, “The Art of the Lens,” coming this Friday, September 3, 2010. Voted as 2010’s “Best People and Organization” by Tucson Lifestyle magazine, First Fridays’ “Art of the Lens” night aims to stimulate all of the senses, seamlessly weaving together art, music, dance and social commentary.

The 30th edition of First Fridays, this September 3rd from 8pm to 12am, will showcase the best that Downtown Tucson has to offer while providing the opportunity for adults of all ages to network and socialize in a unique atmosphere. The evening starts off with demonstrations from the University Of Arizona College Of Optics and Sciences. The Art Institute will also host interactive area for guests. Guests will have exclusive opportunity to use their own lenses to view the portable Planetarium from the Flandreau Planetarium. The networking reception goes from 8 to 9pm, includes a raffle from local businesses and appetizers from 47 Scott.

From 9pm to midnight, the “Art of Lens” theme continues with stargazing in plaza and a drive-in film hosted by The Loft. To continue the experience of art through a lens, local photographers will be on hand displaying their creative photography, while guests will be encouraged to upload their very own photos to our Facebook page for a chance to win Cash Prizes for the best photo of the night! Sky Bar will be onsite serving a Celestial drink, to go along Tucson Weekly 2009 Best Pizza – Brooklyn Pizza. Red Velvet Cupcakery will also be onsite providing samples! Partygoers can participate in a LIVE photo session with KVRCreative, all while enjoying music by SATYR Entertainment. Combined with a Cigar Patio, full cash bar, and Area 520 covering the night, “The Art of the Lens”, is an event you won’t want to miss!
